Lawns comprised of cool-season grasses such as those in our area will naturally thin over time. Add in the potential of any bare patches forming due to soil compaction and the benefits of our overseeding service become quite evident. Overseeding is a great way to boost the density of your turf and also fill in any bare areas throughout your lawn. We offer our overseeding service in the fall, in either September or October. We only offer our overseeding service in conjunction with our core aeration service because it gives your new seeds the best opportunity for germination and growth.
Our overseeding service is available to our customers during the fall months of September and October. We perform overseeding at this time because the heat of summer has passed and the cooler weather is ideal for grass growth. Also, the cool-season grass seed we use for our overseeding service will have plenty of time to germinate and establish itself as new grass before winter sets in. By the time spring rolls around, your new grass will be firmly established and ready for the growing season.
We only offer our overseeding service when it is paired with our core aeration service. Core aeration is the process of removing small cores of soil from your lawn to loosen any compacted soil. This makes it easier for nutrients and other resources to reach the roots of your grass. By overseeding your lawn directly after it has been aerated, the new grass seeds will have better seed-to-soil contact because they can fall into the holes that were created during the aeration process. Your new seeds will also benefit from improved access to nutrients and resources due to the aeration process.
